WisdomTree Expands Tokenization Push with Private Credit Fund Launch

WisdomTree has unveiled a tokenized private credit fund, marking its latest foray into blockchain-based investment vehicles. The WisdomTree Private Credit and Alternative Income Digital Fund (CRDT) tracks 35 publicly traded closed-end funds, BDCs, and REITs - mirroring an existing ETF the firm launched in 2021.

With a $25 minimum investment and two-day redemptions, CRDT democratizes access to private credit markets that have surged in popularity among yield-seeking investors. "This brings the asset class to a broader investor universe," said Will Peck, WisdomTree's digital assets head.

The launch continues WisdomTree's tokenization strategy following previous funds targeting money markets, fixed income, and equities. It coincides with growing institutional interest, as evidenced by BlackRock's $2B tokenized money market fund and Fidelity's Ethereum-based offering.
